Can someone point me to the symbols for WIX 3.0 RTM sources? I don't see
anything related to that @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/wix/files/.

Download IntelĀ® Parallel Studio
when the same
MSP shows the correct names on XP, W2K3 and W2K8 OSs.
Is this by-design or do I have to set some patching attribute to make this work
for W2K?

Hey Bob, the DialogRef element is not a part of the patch schema. I am looking
at http://wix.sourceforge.net/manual-wix3/wix_xsd_patchfamily.htm. It is a
child of UI element which can only be used to define UI elements for an MSI's
WXS file.

unlike the
components, custom actions, properties, etc., I can't find this new ID I added
in the updated MSI when I opened it through Orca. Any ideas on that?

What do we need to include in a patch WXS file to let WIX know that the patch
should include a new dialog that is added to the installer UI? I tried this
with UIRef element under PatchFamily, with the ID of the dialog, but it does
not seem to include it in the patch.
Thanks,
Sharat
Nope, I don't see them being updated. I am checking this with Orca. Even the
custom actions that I got working, I had to add them to a patch family.

FYI, I was able to figure out how to include CustomActions in the patch. But
the one thing that I don't see in the WIX documentation is how to patch
Standard Actions.

Is there any other alternative for admin installations? This process does not
allow me to explode the MSI and patch it because of file sequencing issues from
the SP1 MSP.

Any ideas on what this is talking about? I don't see any "11" in any of the
WIX* files gen
ble to apply this patch for both the Select
and DEM SKUs.
So, what is the right approach here?
