Windows sets the COMPUTERNAME environment variable but I never
liked the idea of relying on environment variables. If you need the actual DNS hostname,
you’ll have to write a customaction.

Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security
utility, it completely undermines the capabilities Windows
Installer technology provides and it unnecessarily complicates your
application when you don't want these features anyway.
You should also look into ClickOnce for .NET 2.0.
