That is why the all of the WiX path locations are overridable, and I'm pretty sure they are documented somewhere. The properties to set when using MSBuild and putting WiX in your enlistment (or any other non-installed location) are (for v3.5, previous may be a subset): WixCATargetsPath WixTargets
