Hello,
OK, the summary can't be in Unicode, only the UI, and people with the CJK
version of XP will not be able to use it, anyway. Besides, it's not officially
supported (although I can't really imagine any other way but to make it
supported). Any more problems...? :-))

A naïve WiX question:
If I have a simple exe: foobar.exe
That returns a "yes" or "no" on standardout,
How do I use WiX to launch foobar.exe and get the "yes" or "no" answer in a
variable?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
did anybody find a way to make codepage 65001 work? I don't need CJK but a

Can anyone suggest an link, snippet, or example of how to change the icon
associated with my installation in the Add/Remove Programs?
With Wix 2.0 I am trying to change the icon associated with the my
application in Add/Remove Programs. I've tried using the Icon element under
the Product element
Found my own answer on my next internet search after submitting the
question, and Mike Dimmick just sent me a reply with the answer too.
The ARPPRODUCTION property along with an Icon element. I placed both inside
the package element, and read that the Icon Id needs to end with the same
extension
Set the ARPPRODUCTICON property. See the documentation of that property for
how to use it.

Uh. I'm going to stop you right there. The HKL values are issued by
Microsoft and are done, I believe, on the understanding that no-one else is
creating keyboard layouts. I'd recommend you take advantage of someone
else's hard work and use Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator

I saw that the bug where using the perfmon stuff was not working has
been fixed. It was fixed on 12/2 so I was wondering if anyone knows
when the next weekly release is coming out. I'm hoping to avoid
having to build it myself. :)

Hello,
I'm trying to find a reliable way to get the path to the running MSI.
Once I have the path, I'd like to spawn an executable that is relative
to the MSI in a custom action. I'd like to try and do this as early as
possible in the execute sequence. I've tried using SOURCEDIR to mixed

Some in the office has done a similar this with a DLL, for our old IME, but
it's messy and when you uninstall the IME it leaves all the registry in.
so if there is a way of doing this within Wix it would be great.

This looks like you should write the registry values directly but use
an API somewhere. Have you looked into MSDN if there's something about
how to programmatically set the character set correctly?
