Try putting this key in its own component and then set the Permanent='yes'
attribute on the component.

I want to modify a registry value on install and ignore doing anything on
uninstall. Apparently that is not possible when I use the Action="write". This
is removing the key value on uninstall which I don't want. Any help?
Thanks

What is the purpose of the Assembly attribute of the File Element?
I'm trying to install a set of .net assemblies, but if I set the Assembly
attribute to ".net" the msi fails with an HRESULT 0x8002802F (and no real
information of course). It works if I leave the Assembly attribute out.

I have a need to install a service using the NT AUTHORITY\LocalService

I did the same thing. I created a vb script that traverses a directory

At installer compile time, each file has to be named explicitly.
I've written a Wix build script (and use some custom commands in Visual
Studio, but that really doesn't matter) that uses a utility called
Mallow to build the source tree that gets included in our installers.
For what it's worth,
It might be easier to look in the registry for the DisplayName item in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\kbn for the
fix, if it is actually a kb update that's in Add/Remove Programs.

No. It just tells MSI which code page to use to display text. If you
want to restrict where your packages get deployed, use a launch
condition (Product/Condition) instead.

How can I uninstall an sqldatabase installed by Wix if the database

If I start .msi, I have the modify dialog because the project is

Hi,
I'm using wix 3 and having some problems with the UI. I'm setting the
installer to use WixUI_MONDO. The problem is that the user doesn't get
prompted for the install location.
If i change WixUI_MONDO to WixUI_INSTALLDIR the prompt shows up, so i think
it is not a problem in my wix code.
