I'm not an expert with XmlConfig yet but my understanding is that VerifyPath is
used to tell if the element/attribute is actually present. With VerifyPath
specified the CustomAction can tell during repair and during uninstall if the
element/attribute needs to be fixed/removed. VerifyPath is wh
It's all about tradeoffs. During a normal repair the Windows Installer will
only check the KeyPath of a Component to determine if a Component needs to be
repaired. The fewer KeyPaths you have the faster the repair goes but the fewer

I would like the add/remove programs repair to fix any registry
entries that have been altered. Is there a benefit, or
I've been trying to use the XmlConfig node in WiX v3.0. What I'm trying to
do is to append a new "add"-node under
/configuration/system.data/DbProviderFactories (in machine.config) that
should be removed on uninstall. I think I've figured out how to add it
properly, but I still don't understand ho
Hello, all.
I'm in the process of porting our installer from InstallShield 10.5
to WiX 3.0.2211. The new installer is working well, but it is having
a bit of trouble uninstalling our old IS installations. (We're
