Subject: [WiX-users] Custom Action on SelectionTree change
Date: Thu, 16 Nov 2006 19:44:38 +000
Hi,
Can someone explain how I can run a custom action on SelectionTree change in
the UI?
I'm currenty using publish events on the next button, but I'm sure there's a
better way. I'm trying to change some properties based on the selected
features regardless of whether in ui mode or if run sil
I am getting the following error when trying to build the UI custom
samples. Can someone help in resolving them?

This is happening because you do not have the correct text in your error
table. I realize it's counterintuitive, but you need to copy in the error
text tags from the wix dialogs and you'll notice the uninstall text showing
up.

Hi,
I haven't got any response for my question. I couldn't be the only

WiX people, do you see any text displayed on the UI when you do
uninstall? Could you give me some explanation?
Thanks!

So how do you replace a merge module with a wixlib. A merge module has
a cab with the files to be installed in it. AFAIK, a wixlib has no way
transporting the files to be installed to the final MSI. So it seems to
me that to use a wixlib, you need the wixlib and the binaries to be

I had opened an issue on this with SourceForge back in October, and i just

I have now successfully created the patch file after using the admin
install of two compressed msi's.
I now face another issue in that the patch file does not update anything
on my target machine. The patch does not report any errors on execution
and completes successfully, but on checking the
Well, thought so.
Would not anyone think it should be possible to build to .msi's with one
Project? With such an Scenario, one could work with paths (e.g. to
include-files) that would not need to go out of the projects scope.
Just a quick thought...
thx, Oliver
