Thanks for the answers, now I at least understand what is going on.
Unfortunately it seems, the data parameter in the dissector call is not
promoted to Lua (maybe somthing for another enhancement :) ). So I will
probably try to implement Pascal's solution first.

Also, after solving the problem of getting a reference to the original CAN
dissector I guess I need to replicate the add_uint calls in Lua to register my
own dissecto

Hallo!
After an update from 0.99.6 to 0.99.7 I have problems with a custom dissector
I wrote. On 0.99.6 everything was fine, but now I get the mssage "[Dissector
bug, protocol RTSU: proto.c:1064: failed assertion "length == 6"]". I have no
idea to solve this :( Below is my disscetor-Source. Thank
