When you use tcp_dissect_pdus, an argument is the length of the data to be
decoded.
This apparently say to Wireshark to stop the analyze, and then call again the
dissector for the end of the data.
Anyway, I used this function to reassemble TCP packets, and apparently this
also allow Whireshark
Hi,
I'm finishing to write a dissector for Wireshark, and I try to handle the error
cases.
I found the expert info page: http://wiki.wireshark.org/Development/ExpertInfo
But I didn't really understand everything.
So I looked at the packet-tcp. source to see how it was done, and I have some

Hi,
thank you.
For the field part, you are right. But my question was more about how to
make easily the browse button, so that the user don't need to write all
the path for the data. And also how to get this path.
I also have another question, which has no link with the first one, but
I won't
Hi,
I am building a dissector for Wireshark, and I would like to give the user the
possibility to save directly all the data my plugin decoded into a text file.
So the only thing I need is the path to where I can save the text file. Do I
have the possibility to implement directly a "browse" fi

Of course I installed perl with Cygwin. I even did it like 30 times, but it
never work with my computer!
The version used of Cygwin is the 1.5.25-15 (the last one)
And the Perl version used is the 5.10.0-5 (the one used by Cygwin)
But it seems that it only happens to me, so not a big deal!

ActivePerl (and launch it at least one time to associate the perl files

I don't know if it could help somebody, but maybe it could be worthwhile
to put it in the Developer's Guide?

I have Windows XP (32-bits) on my computer.
One month ago, I already managed to compile Wireshark with the developer's
guide. After the 1.2.1 version was out, I thought I should update my sources.
So I did so, tried to re-com

Hi!
I have been searching this on Internet, but I don't find any solution, this is
why I write to you.
I have built a first dissector for Wireshark. Now, I know that for some kind of
messages from this protocol, the data it contains are encoded with an other
protocol (ASN.1, to be accurate).
