I suspect a lot of web hosting companies use CentOS. The outfit I was with in Florida sure did. No doubt there’s going to be a scramble to get Rocky Linux or equivalent going quickly. I am now hosting my weewx website on a VPS now using Ubuntu and Apache. That way I have full control and don

That’s close enough, Tom. I like to promote it, so I think something like “Between 5 and 10 thousand” is a good response. There’s no doubt in my mind that this far exceeded your expectations when you first kicked it off. Also it’s a great example of the Deming cycle of continuous improvement,

That makes perfect sense, Tom. I erroneously implied in my initial post that the NOAA files were being created anyway, in spite of the mistake I made. They were not, and obviously couldn’t be because the relevant part of the code wasn’t running. What I was seeing was the historical NOAA file

Makes sense, Vince. Indeed it is a -1 on the 1-10 scale of importance. I was thinking of something like the cron restart script, but I wanted to be sure I hadn’t missed something obvious. weewx is a mature product, and it’s been my experience that there’s little that you guys have not encounte

The best thing to do is use the SD card copy utility supplied by the Pi O/S to create a clone of your operational SD card.  If things go awry, put the clone in, reboot, and you are back the way you were. That said, the changes you are considering are unlikely to break anything.- Paul VE1DX On Feb 18

Regardless of whether it’s a median filter, a Kalman filter or anything else, integrating it into weewx doesn’t seem trivial to me. This is something Tom and the other developers would need to consider and decide the best way to proceed. Also, how many users would take advantage of it. T

I have been without power since 9:15 AM local. We are in the eye of Hurricane Dorian. It works fine when I have Internet access. The timing of my implementation was a bit off! We ought to have power back in 24-48 hours. - Paul VE1DX > On Sep 7, 2019, at 7:29 PM, Pat wrote: > > Looks good

Hi Bill, I don’t have power yet. I have “iffy” cell data and some email is flowing to/from my phone. My weather console is on battery backup so I do have that data (I think.). Once I get Internet back my website will catch up and the data throughout this thing should be accessible.
