How do I add it to the skin.conf.
Just pasting in the code does not work.

Thanks a lot for this hint - I wasn't aware that there are such complex
dependencies among python versions - its extensions - and weewx. Since I'm
on tumbleweed, too, I couldn't simply switch the pillow version. After
tweaking genplot.py I also had to manipulate utilities.py as described here

A good news;
your script , Matthew run well, I searched where I had an error, I
forgotted to add your script inside nrpe.cfg
but now I search why I can't install "E: Impossible de trouver le paquet
libdb-sqlite3-perl".
result: ./check_nrpe -H 192.168.0.161 -c check
I could idenify the main reason for my problem. If the right border of the
timeline has already reached the new year 2024 while the current date (last
database entry) is still in 2023 that line is intentionally skipped
triggered by skip_if_empty - see the the debugging of imagegenerator.py

Maybe my understanding of WEEWX_ROOT is wrong. But partly it worked thus I
assume it is not working everywhere. I did set WEEWX_ROOT within weewx.conf
onto some directory and copied a full weewx 4.6.2 installation over there.
But the following folders were not found

WEEWX_ROOT is the root folder under which all the other folders live (such
as HTML_ROOT or SKIN_ROOT). My WEEWX_ROOT is /, SKIN_ROOT is
/etc/weewx/skins and HTML_ROOT is /var/www/html/weewx. Your skins would be
in WEEWX_ROOT/SKIN_ROOT and your weather files will generate into
WEEWX_
