Maybe the certificate error is related to letscrypt. Please try to update your
local java installation, because maybe it is to old and don't have the required
root-ca.

That the WO-Jars are closed source makes it really hard to move to the new
Java-Module-System. But I had a similar problem once and was able to solve it.
