I guess I don't think this would be related to the use of uwsgi vs
mod_wsgi.
Regarding using mod_wsgi, unfortunately, mod_wsgi memory use is much
too big for my very limited budget.
Seems like Webfaction directs Python users to mod_wsgi. Have you tried that?
OK, I got some more replies from the very prompt people at
webfaction. The problem seems to be with my app (web2py).

Your app runs on port 10853 locally and is than proxied by nginx to
either port 80 or 443

webfaction, howeveer, I have not been able to get an answer yet,
beyond 443 or the port assigned when creating the app.
I can only presume that no one has used webfaction with uwsgi for a

the default for https is port 443

my thoughts:
I think this is a different port assigned when you click 'https' on app
creation

In my case the support person 'discovered' the port by putting some
debugging statements in web2py/applications/admin/models/access.py
Why that port was chosen, is a mystery.

Hello Vasile,
Do you mean the port for https as a standard wold-wide(?), at
webfaction, web2py, uwsgi?
Whichever, I cannot find it? Can someone give me a clue?
In this instance googling is of no use: a plethora of answers, some
working, some not, no rhyme or reason and not working for me.
