Very new to web2py, how would I go about extending the registration
page? I want to capture phone numbers etc. during registration as
well.

I like to develop a web2py app on gae.
Setup web2py on appengine was really easy.
My idea was to start with one of the appliances applications.
I tried different apps and always got a *useless* "unable to install".
I had to comment out the try catch in gluon/admin.py to get a useful
error (btw, th

Maybe check with the author/student where he is with the project and
explain what you would like to see.

of this thread, the above is what confused me, i.e. I made a
change using my preferred editor and it did not show up/take effect, but
using admin instead it did, but that was obviously only due to the way I
used the admin/web2py at the time i.e. worked in the same browser window .

launched when one clicks on the web2py edit link. I think that is what
Vasile's suggestion would do (haven't had time yet to try it) but it is
hard coding it.

Yes, but it is just a text editor, no syntax highlight etc etc. That is
what UliPad would bring to the party.

Is it possible to define common db columns, e.g. posted_by, posted_on
etc once and define on the appropriate table to just inherit these
common columns?
