So here my question to shed some light for me:

This has been discussed here. There is a solution:

Hi,
I noticed that one can't pass multiple extensions the
IS_UPLOAD_FILENAME validator. I think that could be rather useful,
especially in my situation, so I don't have to write my own validator.
Is there already a way to do this? If not, it should definitely be
added if possible.
--~--~---
Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I meant uploaded files. I need have a
file go to a subdirectory of my_app/uploads, e.g. my_app/uploads/
images/FILE.
I noticed that you said that it couldn't be done automatically at:
http://osdir.com/ml/web2py/2009-09/msg01278.html

you can set the environment os variable
web2py_path='/path/to/web2py/'
This folder must already contain the 'applicaitons/' folder.

I assume you are running the python windows binary. You cannot take a
module from enought and make it visible there, in particular not
matplotlib that has a lot of dependencies.
You need to start web2py from Enthought. I tried this and I get an
enought error at startup, think releted to Tkinter.
Hi,
Is there a way to specify what subdirectory of app/uploads a file goes
