Java is by no means universally enabled in browsers, and
many of us prefer to use the native client. At any reate
the http URL for the java client solves a diferent problem:
how to get a client started. The proposed vnc: url addresses
the question of ho
it would be nice if there was a VNC URL so that a web page
could have a link to vnc://vnc.serv.er:3, and you could
click on that to bring up a VNC window, just as a telnet
URL brings up a telnet window.
If no one else is working on this I could contact the IANA
and see what they say.

It is true that KDE 2.0 gets confused if you try to run
two copies under the one username. This is a nuisance
for vnc users. I notice
Eventually when using VNC my cursor goes chunky and loses
detail.
Looking at it, it seems that normally the cursor is black and
white: normally with white around the edge. After the change
the cursor is all black.
I tried the tridia server and it also happened with it.
Any ideas?
