Am having trouble getting the AuthHosts registry entry to work for me.
As it was not in the registry under
hkey_local_machine\software\orl\winvnc3\default, I added it in as a new
string, with a value of "?" to query all incoming connections. I'm not
getting a dialog to accept/reject connectio
try "?:*:" as value.

visit WARKRAFT @ http://www.mp3.com/warkraft
there is already a patch quoted on the vnc web site. you can find it unter
http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/extras.html. Search for "Wallpaper
disabling version of WinVNC". I installed it in our company - it works very
fine.

Yes, someone hacked a version that does this (I believe it's on the contribs
page??) and I think I heard that TridiaVNC includes this patch. It works
fine on 95, but on NT when you disconnect it restores the default user's
wallpaper, not the current user's. I also believe this is a known issue.
Is there a reason why some of these highly functional 'pathes' never become
part of the main stream distribution? There is the wall-paper patch, the ssh
patch, zlib compression patches, etc., etc., etc. I know that cyphering has
always been a problem because of the USA, but even that has improve

above will work anyway - AuthHosts just ignores broken parts.)

Presently you must do this manually. The next release has this as an
inbuilt feature, though.

Hello all,
I am new to VNC so excuse my ignorance. I am running VNC on 2 Win2000
servers and I am very happy with it. However when I go to install it on
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 I get to the coping files stage and then it
bombs out with the error that I am attaching. Any help that anyone

I am using VNC for Win98 for the LAN, and test this setup between 2

the server and viewer can see without any problem, but in my second
