I'm using VNC through SSH with no problem (adding Allowloopback key was the

Hi all,

It's not an error message, it's informational. And it goes away on it's own
after a few seconds, so it's not a big deal IMO.

Actually, you need to run "winvnc -install" to properly install winvnc as a
service on NT.

Hi!
Mucked about with it all day - to no avail. But symptoms have changed a
little. VNCviewer now says "Connection failed". However, I get a telnet
connection now - well, sort of. It comes up with "RFB 003.003" - and
nothing more; no prompt, nothing. After pressing return six times, it

Hello and thanks for your advice.
Nr. 1 didn't do it, same outcome.
When telnetting into localhost, Port 5901, telnet seems to start up
(just the same as vncviewer) and is then shutting down again -
connection to host lost. I think I'll have to fiddle around with that
sshd again, though
Markus:
Hello! Try this:
1. Turn off SSH compression (the -C switch). Better/same/worse?
2. Instead of connecting with the vncviewer, telnet into
localhost:5901. Does it connect to an "RFB" prompt?
3. What version of viewer are you using? Might want to try
the Tridia or the TightVN

Does VNC works like PCAnywhere ? Can we install VNC on Windows CE? If yes
then can we install the software on a machine (PC) and windows CE Device?
And access Windows CE Drive from the PC using VNC.
Thanks
