Alright... One more question I promise...
I got the compile and the install working fine. I can connect to the VNC
when I run the vncserver script as root. I linked the vncserver into my
rc5.d directory on this RedHat 7.2 box... It attempts to start the server
but I can see in the boot log fil

I'm trying to compile the VNC Unix Sources on a Redhat 7.2 system and I get
an error that ...
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `vncviewer.man', needed by
`vncviewer._man'. Stop.
Any idea what I might have left out or skipped or broken?
Thanks!

Hey all...
I've read the README included with the *nix VNC Sources but I was wondering
if there is anything a little more in depth on the subject of compiling and
getting VNC to work?
Thanks!

I think someone mentioned this at one point but I wanted to ask this...
I run all my machines at 1024x768... so when I VNC from one machine to
another I get a window that chops off the bottom right of the viewed
machines desktop.
Is there a way (or a planned feature) that will either, allow me

Are you referring to the fact that when you use the Alt-Tab key combination
with the Windows Version of the VNCViewer the keystrokes are executed locally?
In other words: If you have Eudora, Notepad and the VNCViewer open on

Oh well... I was hoping for a switch somewhere.

What does VNC use to determine the name displayed on the Windows Viewer in
the taskbar and in the title bar? I'm guessing it's Machine Name.
The reason I'm asking is that I've got VNC installed on my Windows 2000
machine at home and I'm using the VNC Viewer on my Win2K machine at work to

Chad,
This was exactly what I needed. I appreciate you taking the time to explain
it so clearly.
Do you know if this same this affects NT and 9x

Just out of curiosity... what does this do that can't be done via the user
interface?

Actually I had this problem today and I was about to ask about it myself.
I narrowed it down a little.
