How does one do that? I use the command vncserver. Should I be using the
command "Xvnc -cc 3" to start the server?

I am wondering what kind of configuration would have to be setup on my Linux
box so that I can view the GNOME desktop that comes up when the computer
boots up (not a replica of it). I am very novice when it comes to Linux so

I do not think that is possible. It only displays the computer screen.
What you can do is set up an FTP server on your home PC and then download
the songs to your work machine.
Though if you use this method, make sure you are allowed to download MP3s
onto your work PC as your supervisor may hav
