Anyone have any experience running Tight VNC across a proxy
server? I have a remote site that would like to connect but always
receives connection failed. Coming from another site without the
proxy it works fine. Settings anyone?

Apologies if this is an old chestnut but I'm not a regular Windows user
and am asking on behalf of someone else anyway!
The WinVNC (server) tray icon has to be killed from the task manager or
WinVNC exited before shutdown for shutdown of the machine to continue.

I know this question is a little off topic but... I was wounding if it is
still possible to the source for the video drivers you created for NT4 &
W2k. I was wanting to start playing with a RFB v5 version of VNC and I
thought your drivers would make a great foundation.

i run VNC on two XP boxes and it works fine either way.
both have got static ip's which i assigned to host names using the windows
hosts file.
so in vncviewer, i just enter eg 'server1' and it connects.

I got the compile and the install working fine. I can connect to the VNC
when I run the vncserver script as root. I linked the vncserver into my
rc5.d directory on this RedHat 7.2 box... It attempts to start the server
but I can see in the boot log fil
