I have personally had both installed on the same machine and even run both
clients at the same time.
The only problems you might encounter are:

will most likely also be removed.

Hey all...
I've read the README included with the *nix VNC Sources but I was wondering
if there is anything a little more in depth on the subject of compiling and
getting VNC to work?
Thanks!

It does exist, but you're right - the website seems to be down for
now. Try "OSXVNC" on Google.

Hi there...
I am trying to install MacVNC 333B2 on Mac OS X 10.1 system.
When I double click on "VNC Server Installer", it asked me to install Open Transport
1.1.1 or higher. But there is no Open Transport for OS X 10.1. Did I miss something?
Could someone give me some hints?
Thank you
On a more serious note - I have a GPL question that someone here might be
able to answer.
We have considered integrating vnc into an application we are developing for
another Center. If we only deliver this software to another center, do we
only have GPL requirements to that Center (i.e. - we hav
Hi,
I've already installed VNC on a friend's machine to help me do remote
troubleshooting/maintenance for him. We're both on cable modems so the
speed is not bad, but I'd like to try TightVNC to see if there's any room
for improvement. The problem is he's about an hour away so I can't go back

Well, I tried it on another machine and it worked - something in the
registry gunk may be causing the problem. Otherwise, these are identical
machines, so I'm sorry to say it seems to be caprice of the silicon gods.
Thanks for the help, anyway.
Best,
Ted

You've done everything correctly according to the explicit documentation; I just
did a check through it to see if I could spot discrepancies.
I have yet to see any out-and-out errors in the documentation; however, some
things are obscure or not well documented.
At this point I think I would try

Yes,
The browser needs to support Java. To access a VNC server which is running on
default display 0, you would connect your browser to port 5800. For example, if
the server has IP address 192.168.1.1 you would point your browser at:
http://192.168.1.1:5800

Paul,
You can do this by adding some commands to the shortcut for your
VNCViewer...
For example: "C:\Program Files\TightVNC\vncviewer.exe" /8bit
I use this cos some of the links are only 64k to some of the offices
that I have to access. And it saves me some time clicking on options and
