ORL XVNC `-localhost` does work with the lastest and greatest release.
TightVNC either uses it own verison of `-locahost` (which is broke) or is
based of an older verison of the "offical" VNC.
Strangly, Orl VNC doesn't have the `-interface` options.
No biggie, this is work

At my old ISP the NT admin had both PC Anywhere and WinVNC running on the

The origional ver of VNC by AT&T uses windows hooks, not video hooks. I
think TightVNC is the same. There is a modified version of the AT&T WinVNC
that uses Video Hooks.

It only works on WinNT 4.0 and Win2K as far as I know.

Ditto here.
In fact, there was a continual problem with pcAnywhere itself during the 8.x
days - the service was known to regularly hang, which made it useless for remote
control. I would *always* install VNC as a second remote control method on
single-server domains using PCA 8.x and never had a
I don't know on the video hooks, but I'm running both PCAnywhere and VNC and
not having any problems.

Hi
Hi
We currently run PC Anywhere and I would like to run VNC on the same machine,
I can not find any reference that this will not work, but then I can not see
anywhere saying it will work. Does anyone know?
I am a little concerned as I see that you can not have two video hook packages

I searched the archives and saw no reference to this. I'm not sure
about the license of VNC but this seems pretty odd to me...they don't
even offer credit. It looks like they took one of the pages off the VNC
homepage and did a find and replace VNC with VXStudios and WinVXStudios.

Dear List,
I have a Windows 2000 Professional system, which I want to use as a

the client dies. The Java Viewer tells:

Michael,
When I'm at my desk, I have my CRT set to 1280x1024, but when I undock my
laptop, I drop down to 1024x768. As a result, I use "-geometry 980x700" in
my VNC session, so that I can guarantee it will fit on either screen.
Otherwise, I'd have to deal with the issues you had, or run VNC

I just did a "clean" install of VNC onto NT4, using the latest TightVNC. I'm
doing this to assemble documentation on what settings happen in the registry by
default and as a cross-check on the documentation at the VNC site.
I wanted to know if the default settings done by TightVNC when installed
