Thank you to those who suggested that the problem was video card
processing (which is invisible to VNC). Fortunately, Real's software
has a switch to turn this processing off. Once I did that (and
restarted the s/w --- the changes don't take effect immediately!) I
was able to view RealPlayer ove

To quesiton 1> THat is just the way RH decided to do it. Mandrake has similer setup. I
like init.d my self or xinitd on RH.

Gnome running when they connect to port 5951
Plain X like tvm running when they connect to port 5952.
I start my vncserver as a service on these ports. (No Problem).
