I am trying to connect to an OS X 10.4.x GS4 running 1.71 from PCs.
I have to have ARD running on 5900 and have OSX set to start on 5909
From an older PC running realvnc installed a year ago I can connect on
port 0 but not port 5909. On the ARD port it gives me the login screen
for vnc, I login
ncviewer.

ISPs (or even your home router) will regularly NAT an address
(simply put, it will translate an external address to an
address that may not be assigned externally, such as the

correct.. each time, the
answer was explaining how to make VNC start in Service mode.. This
is not my problem... My VNC is starting in service mode... but just
not working then...

That was the problem. I added the IP address of the viewer computer and it
worked. I tried to just add a '+' but I couldn't. VNC always adds an
address.

This is probably due to the fact that you have Fast User Switching enabled.

If you want the shortcut, you should run the full install package and just
select to install the viewer, no server. If you download the viewer only, it
will just be the program and no install program that would install a
