XTNDConnect Server...I use it...works great for app delivery and backup of handhelds
as well as Exchange sync.
I don't see how VNC would help you do software distribution...unless you want to
manually remote control and install the app on each handheld one by one*shudder*.

What I have tried to do is force VNC to restart the session using a command in the
.twmrc menu called Restart.

able to shutdown and restart their VNC connection if they want (for instance, if they

How do you get video input to play in VNC? I have tried many different methods to get
a video input to show up when I am VNCed into a remote computer...
Setup: One PC on LAN with TV Tuner card...other PC using VNC to connect
Result: Black screen in TV In screen.

then restart it...the restart command never takes.

for the VNC server to run on:
vncserver :2
Then from another computer you would type SERVERNAME:2 in the VNC connect window.
You can run multiple VNC servers on your linux box, and each user can connect to a

I have been looking into this for a while.
Basically, if you have a SSH tunnel open for your VNC connection (which you are doing,
right) you can direct the appropriate alert through the tunnel to the client on the
other side.
A good place to look, at least for the Linux/Unix side, is NAS:
