I had a working connection with a remote client and then this message
appeared. I was unable to get my real fee paying client to reconnect. I
tried closing their browser, stopping and re-starting the VNC service but
after a successful login the same message appeared.
Why?

Some users were down to 256 colours. How is that controlled?
For those interested in the system being used
I have:
BT 2gb broadband
ADSL Modem
Smoothwall firewall feeding a small network

Thanks in anticipation

on the VNC server system tray icon brings up a list but
selecting Options does nothing!
Any clues as to what needs to be done to get the Options back on screen?

I tried to let two people see my desktop for the first time yesterday and
did not get the expected result. I think only one was able to see it at
time. When the logged in again they would see my desktop but the other
person would be knocked off.
They were using a URL like this http://me.dnsalias
Gerard
My reading is that there can be multiple clients on Windows 2000 (forgot to
mention that before) but they all see the same view (desktop).
I have tried to start more than one server in the past and this is not
allowed.
The solution may be to assign each viewer a display number rather than
No need to open any other port.
