Hi!
It doesn't look like RealVNC is aware however, in 4.1.2 (Unsure about other
versions, not that anyone should be using them anyway :P)
Say your password is set to: vncrealtest (as that is a 11 character password
- it seems the last 3 characters are affected)
It seems this sometimes depends

Could any one please give me the step-by-step procedure of using VNC, so

Jane,
It sounds like you're running an anti-virus program on the computer that has
mis-detected vncviewer.exe as viral and removed it. This seems to be
surprisingly common, even amongst the reputable AV software products.

Aday,
This is a well-known (see http://www.realvnc.com/faq.html) limitation of the
classic VNC Password authentication scheme. This was necessary because when
we were first developing VNC, many Unix platforms would return no more than
eight characters from getpasswd(), with no indication that wha
Steve,
If the error is "No such host is known" then the issue is with your DNS
setup, not with your NAT router setup. NAT router misconfiguration leads to
"Connection timed out" and "Connnection refused errors", while "No such host
is known" related to looking up addresses corresponding to names.
Carlos,
Can you provide the exact text of the event-log message?
Cheers,

Sumanth,
Please make sure you're running the latest VNC Free Edition release (or the
latest VNC Enterprise or Personal Edition if you prefer!) on your server.
This addresses a security issue in versions 4.1 & 4.1.1 that could allow
unauthorised remote access to the server.

Wez @ RealVNC
Michael,
Can you grab a copy of VNC Enterprise Edition
(http://www.realvnc.com/download.html) and install a trial copy to test with
Eclipse on that system? It may be that you're seeing a bug in Xvnc that
hasn't yet been fixed in the Free Edition.

Hey all -
I've got a VNC connection going to my Ubuntu 6.10 machine, and I've
gotten GNOME running. What I can't get running is Firefox. When I
check my logs, it says:
You should really not run firefox through sudo WITHOUT the -H option.
Anyway, I'll do as if you did use the -H option.

Hi,
I configured Xorg server with VNC support on FC6 in order to access the
physical screen session (http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/x0.html).
It starts and works well (a bit slow however), but when I leave the system
unused for some time (~30 minutes) the scre
Thanks to both of you guys, but, Unix-nitwit that I am, I don't even
know netstat, is that a Unix-shell command or what? The problem is
that my VNC server runs on three physical machines, only one of which
is Unix-based (actually Linux) and so I doubt that netstat would help

The command netstat works both on Windows and Linux. In Linux add the -p

I am wondering is it possible in RealVNC to calculate any windows dimension

I am trying to develop over RealVNC a mod for research. I would like to
