No password dialog with RealVNC 4.1.2

Hi, I am using RealVNC 4.1.2 free edition to connect between two XP Pro boxes. Connecting from within my organisations network (from my work computer to the box running VNC Server) is no probs, but when I VPN in to the network from home I get no password dialog when attempting to connect. Using
