This morning I needed to perform some remote administration on a Windows 2000
machine running VNC server 4.2.6 across our internal LAN. As things did not
seem to be behaving properly, I initiated a reboot of the machine using the
start menu: Hit the Start button, select Shut Down, and then Resta

Is there any fix on the horizon for this issue? The website hints that it
*might* be fixed in EE, but other documents suggest it still isn't.
Any information is appreciated!

Hiyas,
Just had to clean up this new worm from an infected pc. Apparently the
vector was through an um-updated VNC on a friend's pc. Just another reason
to update and patch.

When will there be a version of the free RealVNC that will automatically
start at bootup in Windows Vista like it did in XP? I see that the personal
and enterprise versions do but the free version is still not able to.

hello
Here is my answer to the asked question:
my 2 PC's are connected via a DSL link.
If you happened to know this, the DSL boxes are Free boxes; at one end, there is
a router.
On one side, the Fireawall is WinXP's, and ZoneAlarm on the other side.
Hope this help.

It appears that NIS is blocking RealVNC. I am using version 4.1.2. Is it
possible that a recent update to NIS added full RealVNC blocking due to the
4.1.1 security hole?

Does anyone know if there is a list of error codes and their meaning?
It seems if they are going to use error codes, there would be a key to
go along with it. I am receiving error code #11004 - the database
doesn't have the correct associated data that is being resolved for.
Not sure what this me

Should be an easy one:
I've got a VNC server running on my iMac 1920x900 screen (OSX Vine).
I'm on XP with RealVNC Client. (1400x1024 something)
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't...
When it doesn't, the Remote Control window flashes up, then disappears, no
error message.
What's going on?
