file transfer

2005-05-05 Thread Chris
I'm testing out both RealVNC & UltraVNC and was wondering if RealVNC had any plans to integrate file transfer. If not then what do people use to transfer files back and forth. It needs to be user friendly so you don't have to pick asc/binary like ws_ftp and a simple interface. Thanks, Chris

Thanks guys! Okay, so, I setup an SSH server at home, and am using PuTTY at work to create a tunnel. I had to use port 443, as port 22 is blocked. Seeing that I had to use a tunnel, I decided to use RDC instead of VNC. Viola! It works like a charm. Both RDC and VNC work great through the tu

IP History drop-down menu

Hi, does anybody know how to clear the list of previous IPs used on VNC? Shouldn't this be a security issue...? For example; i VNC into my machine at home whenever i can access internet points whilst i'm away, but am at various locations most of the time and the pcs i use mainly have VNC installed

If they are monitoring to that level, it will probably look like you are doing a lot of HTTPS traffic to them. As both (HTTPS and SSH) are encrypted, there's nothing much for them to see but byte counts... Kevin -Original Message- From: John Gray [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday

Hello It is possible to clear the list of previous IPs used on VNC. This has to be done through the registry. If you go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software|RealVNC\VNCViewer\MRU, you will find entries numbered 00, 01 etc. On deleting these entries the list of previous IPs will be deleted. Ketan

Changing the port number in code

The difference will be that it will appear that you are mainitaing a https session for as long as you leave the tunnel up. I agree with kevin as well about if you are unsure then perhaps not. Even pr0n is only 1's and 0's and they usually get upset if you move those bits around at work. On 5/5/0

The problem is the client. When connecting to a server, you can specify the port offset from 5900 via "x:" in the connect string. I don't know how to make the client use a different base. Regards, Andy Angelo Sarto wrote: If I may ask, why hardcode? The configuration allows any port to be selec
