Scott,
Unless there is something wrong with LAN's access to the Internet, your
statement regarding access to servers is incorrect. The router should
respond on its external (WAN/Internet) IP address even within the LAN.
Your statement regarding "router logon box"s is also incorrect, I think.

Robert,
VNC already has functionality of this sort.

Hi all:
Because we use a firewall, I need to connect to another computer ONLY trough a
port 80. I can do it but when VNC requests a password it\'s using port 3800. Is
there any way to fix it?

Can you say "Hoax"? There is NO "email tracking program". You cannot get

I was wondering.. one of our servers is running RealVNC 4.0 server, and I use

Have a look at VLC ('VideoLan Client', now also incorporates the

Hi,
I'm brand new to VNC. I have vncserver and vncviewer running on two
different RH Linux machines. I can make a connection but the display that
shows on the remote machine doesn't have any of the icons that would
display on the local machine.
I thought VNC would allow full display access to

I'm sorry to disagree, but my experience has been that most

The old SMC I had (a 7004WBR I think) does this, as does the Linksys
BEFW11S4 (v4 I think)
I think it is just hit or miss (and people seem to remember their last
experience).
I have a similar model Linksys but wired (BEFSR41 V3) and it does not allow
me to create a VPN/PPTP connection using the external address of the router
(to the VPN server on our LAN) from inside the LAN (works fine
If you want both the java viewer and the server on the same port,
(port 80) then you need vnc enterprise.
The other option is to install the viewer client (you can run it from
a cd if you need too) and change the connection port to 80.
