When you say "When I lock the server by Ctrl+Alt+Del .", where were you?
Before the VNC viewer or physically before the server machine and press those keys on
the keyboard? By your next sentence, I would say you're before the viewer, but I

You need to run VNC Server in Service-Mode.

Gary,
Regarding your scrolling issue, you might wish to try VNC Viewer 4b4, which
has rate-limited bump-scrolling. The next VNC Viewer release will include
toggle-able Alt and Ctrl menu items in the F8 Menu.

This is the same problem of video that we have in the discussions recently.
Well, this can't be classified as a "problem" of VNC, but the way how video is

Scott,
The comments at
http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/76.html
claim that it's necessary to "Disable the Welcome Screen", which isn't true.
Disabling Fast User Switching and Remote Desktop are also not strictly
required.

Hello Learned List People,
Going a bit crazy here:
Does Norton Internet Security 2003 work with VNC, or NOT???
If so, can anyone please send their settings?
Sorry Peter, still trying to do this without SSH.

Elke,
VNC Viewer is just a standard Winsock 2 application. If NIS doesn't allow
it to connect out to servers then there is something misconfigured or broken
in NIS and you'll need to contact Norton about the problem. (And post their

Is it possible to automatically start the server and the viewer

While I am at home, I can use VNC Client to connect to the internal network
IP with no problems. However, I can't connect outside my home, with one

The Aquatic Jew,
VNC operates over TCP, not UDP. When you say "I *can* connect via the Java
website ability", do you really mean that you can access the remote host by
that method, or just that you can download the ava viewer successfully?

Gary,
The "F8 Menu" has been introduced to VNC Viewer for Windows as of version 4.
It's roughly equivalent to the extended System Menu available in the VNC
Viewer 3.x series.

Shmuel,
This usually means that another program (usually another VNC Viewer) is
