Hi,
I've recently upgraded to Fedora and VNC viewer 4.0b4. When I connect
using that and others connect using VNC viewer 3.3.3r2, they can see my
mouse movements but I cannot see theirs. In other words, they move the
mouse all around their screen but on my screen, the mouse stays stationary.

Any advice?

Heya. Your workplace network is likely protected by a firewall,
maybe even in combination with a web-proxy. That makes getting a VNC
connection "thru" it a bit tricky. Some thoughts about it here:
http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/87.html
Hope this helps!

If you have a router, try port forwarding port # 5900

Does it work if you manually do the command in the rc.vnc file?
/bin/su - bob -c "/usr/local/bin/vn
Now this tells you to create a /etc/init.d/rc.vnc
Now did you create a symbolic link to the above file from /etc/rc3.d as

For Solaris the /etc/rc3.d/S98vnc will run

Yes,
Download the vnc beta 4 (goto downloads at www.realvnc.com and on the
right hand side is a link to beta 4) and use the X0vncserver file to
start a server that will allow you to connect to display 0 and see what
is shown on the console gui.

Disable Local Cursor rendering in your viewer - this will force the server
to send the pointer image, so that it will reflect where the actual cursor
is. Your local cursor will then be a small "dot" cursor.
The behaviour in this case will be improved in the next release of VNC 4.
Cheers,

Mike,
Check that there isn't already a user logged in. Windows XP supports Fast
User Switching, which current VNC releases aren't compatible with - if you
log in more that one user at once then the VNC server will only be able to
see the first user's desktop, and only when it is visible locally,
