Hello gurus,
I have found a difference beteween WinVNC 3.3.3 R2 server and
RealVNC 3.3.6 server functionality.
WindowsNT with WinVNC 3.3.3 R2 lets me login remote using a
RealVNC viewer, while RealVNC 3.3.6 yields an error message:
VNC authentication failed!
This discrepance disallows remote rebo
I would like to know if VNC records machine names and IP addresses
somewhere since
I am coding an application that needs to identify how many machines
are connected to an
specific VNC server and what the names of those VNC viewers are.
Thanks,
Alfredo

Fred,
You can avoid the effects of things like blinky cursors simply by
minimising the viewer. That should prevent the viewer from requesting
further display updates until it is restored.
Cheers,

This is not a functionality problem, just a configuration problem. You

I've seen a couple postings in the archives that say it works for 80211.b
but I've been unable to get my setup here at home (80211.a) to connect. The

The win98 laptop was connected to our LAN via Ethernet but that slot is now

For Xvnc you can set a resource on the X11 server to prevent text input cursors from
blinking: we do this by default for X logons across our whole site.

I also connect to corporate lan using Secure Remote and have the same
symptoms. Is it possible that your corporate lan blocks all ports
except 80 (and maybe 21 and 443)? If so you'll have to futz with port
settings in VNC to get it to listen on one of the open ports in your
corp firewall.

I exec a DOS application.
When I press the arrow keys (down arrow.left arrow.right arrow.up arrow)

The problem is a mapping key.
VNC Server generate a different map key.
If the program hope a key code 0-72,0-80,0-77,0-75 receive another code.
