Hi,
When you download the vnc install exe, and install it, it gives you the option of 1,
only installing the viewer, or 2 installing the
viewer, and server. Would it be possible, in the next version, to give the option just
to install the server?
We have it here as a remote admin tool on 200 PC

Maybe I didn't make the point quite well enough. What I meant was so long as
you can disable any enhanc
You can also use `netstat -a` and check for the ports in use.

How do you get video input to play in VNC? I have tried many different methods to get a video input to show up when I am VNCed into a remote computer...
Setup: One PC on LAN with TV Tuner card...other PC using VNC to connect
Result: Black screen in TV In screen.

I've been wanting to use this however the zVNC install instructions say
you have to install the normal VNC 3.3R9. However
http://www.realvnc.com/download.html lists 3.3.6 as the latest version.
Are the instruction on the zVNC site a typo and should I download 3.3.6

Yes. You can use RDP2VNC (available at http://www.spineless.org.uk), to
act as a proxy between NT or 2K Terminal Services and VNC clients. It's

Hi
The problem is that the install instructions for zVNC are somewhat
disadvantaged in the clarity department.
The relevant bit is:
Using ZVNC Server:
* First, install VNC 3.3.R9. ZVNC is based on this version,
and is completely compatible with it.
* Instead of running WinVNC,

I am able to do video with VNC. However, I did have the problem of a

When I switched to H.263 mode, VNC was able to display the video

Hi everyone,
I tried to use vncserver on a Solaris box that didn't have an X window
system installed (it's using CDE primarily as of now). We ran into problems
trying to get it to work, so I was wondering: is having X windows necessary
for VNC to work? If so, are there ways around this problem?
Grant,
I tried the xstartup I mentioned in my last message but although the cut/paste buffers
appeared to be working (using autocutsel06) I had problems with my CDE.
I tried various combinations along the lines of what Charles Hines suggested in his
post to this group on Dec 3rd. The best I cou

Running as a KDE service, it will allow you to share your desktop using the

Ok, I figured out the problem with the original script and it all makes
sense now. The problem is simply due to the fact that the script is trying
to launch a second gnome session. The script was failing because gnome
doesn't like having multiple instances running (don't know why just yet).
