Your probably right on the blue screen. I have nothing special setup for
VNC. It works through the proxy just like a an ftp client as long as your
using the proxy client which makes it look as if you were directly on the
Internet.

Most viewers have a function key that brings up a menu, and one of the menu
choices is "send control-alt-delete". Try F8.

I am reposting this because no-one replied, and I think it's a question
that a lot of people would like answered.

I recently tested the current vnc release (v3.3.3 R9) against the win32

Hi!
I'm new to VNC. I used to use PCAnywhere on our LAN but to licensing and
various other issues I've removed this software from the system. Anyway,
I've put VNC on the system as a replacement and all-in-all I've been
relatively happy with it.
Our system is a SBS2000 server with a mix of Win98

Sounds like you missed the "Default" password.

If you click on default properties for Winvnc, you will see and option
called display, Uncheck the auto and specify 1. This is 5900 plus display to
get 5901 as the port number, (please note that this also changes the web
port to 5801).
It is in the documentation.

'Default' password? As in 'Default Local System Properties' after
clicking 'Show Default Settings'?
I had set up a 'default' password on all of the PC's after installing
and running the WinVNC Service, including the Win98 machines. As I said,
there is no problem on the Win2K PC's - the password i

it CAN be done, ( and no i wont tell you how, as technically
that's violating the DMCA and i goto jail.. ) but, it would

Heya. While I agree that the 'shatter' attack is something
every user should bring to Microsoft's attention (which I can see
in your email headers that you did), at the same time I don't
consider it a VNC problem.
