Really I am on the latest version 18.3 and there is no "more" button in the
mail application from Apple on my Iphone 15 Pro Max; maybe this is because I am
in Europe?

getting to do as much as possible with as little as possible interaction on my

giving a command is just the easiest thing to do in my opini
And just for completeness sake, you can also add Scan Code as an option on your
lock screen, this way if you do use it quite frequently, it's right there
without even having to unlock your iPhone.
