My current QEMU script is heavily influenced from OVMF Whitepaper
ps aux | grep kvm when running the vm in virt-manager... then start
deleting unneeded things :D

Can you try Gerd Hoffmann's precompiled OMVF package here [1]?. I usually pick
from there and currently I’m at 2015-11-26 build so far no issue.
