After some more research on using q35 and ioh3420 I have what I believe to
be a correct setup in libvirt.
However, the same problem persists.

So, I just tried the 0.1.117 and it seems pretty stable. I updated several game
concurrently, which would always make the previous version crash, but this one
was smooth.
I'll install it permanently and see how it goes.

I'm working on testing a setup where all of my 'desktops' are VMs, however
