VLC runs on *nix and Windows, I've read where streamdev is combined with vlc
enables the stream to be multicast.

I've decided to use VLC with streamdev, works fine for now.
Not sure about multicast, it works with unicast streams, but since I have
only one remote client it doesn't matter for me.

and what about szap-s2/xmlscan ? is there any snr/ber/ information in these
utiltites in dvb-s/dvb-s2 mode ?
with my hvr4000 I have snr/ber/sig information for dvb-s, and for snr/sig - for
dvb-s2 (without ber)

Where can I download the H.264 patch from? I can't find it on Google. My
card is only DVB-S, not DVB-S2; do I need the s2api patch as well?

If anyone does offer a prepatched tree, PLEASE DON'T use that enormous
"ext" patch! I'd rather if someone just kept a patch archive with an
explanation of what each patch does. However, hopefully we won't need
to use patches for s2api and h264 for much longer.

I think there is a memory leak with xine as output device (I have version
0.8.2).
Watching the same channel for 15 minutes rises memory usage of VDR process
from 10MB to about 200!
Switching channel free that memory.
I've tried to do the same with streamdev and the memory stays on 10MB le

no any information in CoderateH (I can see only ---)
in BITRATE field I can see only ---(6 Mbit/s)
