Any chance you might tell us that patent number without the
need for installing your program?
I'd really like to know what this software-patent is about...

Hi,
I tried several vdr versions, but they all share the same problem on my Ubuntu
(currentyl 6.06) box: vdr starts very slowly when the syslog daemon is
running. The vdr bootup takes about 1-2 minutes with syslog running. After
stopping the syslogd vdr starts in about 10 seconds and responds
VDR maintenance patch 1.4.1-3 is now available at

This is a 'diff' against version 1.4.1-2 (which is the official

and ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.4

Hi all,
I would like to submit the improved alternative channel patch
for vdr 1.4.0. There was a problem with uninitialized variables
with 0.0.2 which should be solved by taking directly the channel
id instead of storing the channel id-string.
What's the patch for:

I can answer to this question, but not in a public maillist an to a
anonym person. you can send me a letter (bundespost) and then
i tell you the next step(s). I can only say: it is not a kind of software,
sondern the procedure. The software is freeware.

Now which email address is more "anonym", <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I use something like -x so that the scan doesn't force ca field to
1, which has non-desired effect on VDR.
Hello,
Can anyone point me to a documentation that describes how to use "scan"
(dvb-utils) to build a working channels.conf? Apparently the syntax of the
channels.conf or the parameters of scan have changed over the years, because
the parameters that used to work for me once don't do it anymo

Hi Klaus,
the next release of my plugin will have a couple of man pages. I
included an 'install-doc' section in the Makefile.
But one has to do a 'make install-doc' in the plugins source directory
to install them.
What do you think about a 'make install-doc-plugins' in VDR's Makefile

Oh, while we're at it: you're apparently selling stuff over your web site
at http://www.dalibox.de, as can be seen on

Yes, that is right, but i don´t sell something. The DaLiBoxExtrem is only a
fake.
I wait for the PS3. Maybe that is the right stuff. Then you can find a
impressum
with all that you need.

Hi,
after applying the patch, I get many entries (30 per second) in the syslog:
Aug 6 23:20:23 very-new-darkstar vdr: [11415] ERROR (svdrp.c,84): Address

The HD-LED is flashing like during recording.

The svdrp server port (default 2001) is in use by another program, in
other words, there's another VDR instance
