I don't mess with this enough to remember the steps for making the
dumps, but making it crash is as easy as telling it to scan for
channels. So if you want to put up the steps to get the data... :)

Yes, and there are programs that can capture part of a stream to a file
to examine. So you don't need access to the stream to see where the
broadcasters are failing to follow the FCC set standards. I think
Dvbsnoop is one and I have compiled, though I only used it once or twice

Using the ATSC epg plugin I get all program names, but some channels
just say no information. But if you check the same channels with a
converter box, they do have program information. I was told there is a
flag that is checked. If the flag is not set by the broadcaster, the
program info is not

Quick way to force vdr to use selected tuners is the -D option. For
example, if you want it to use the 1ts and 3rd in a 3 tuner system:

Hi Guys, I have two ATSC adapter.
On one I scan my channels, create my channels.conf file (via a convoluted
script), the channels work on that laptop using 1.6. I make a couple of
edits to allow it to work on 1.7.12, but a particular frequency causes VDR
to crash and get restarted by the watchdog.

I picked up a Skystar2 Air2Pc card. I've tried to scan for channels with it (Rogers Cable in Canada) with no success using the dvbapps atscscan tool.
I seem to just get alot of timeouts. I'm not sure how to get a scan of available channels from this card. I've tried using a list
