Hello,
Try to use an other output driver to avoid ati's xv problems.
Type vdr-sxfe --help to get a list of these drivers.
If your machine is a vdr pc only you can try vidix on a text console
without X.

I decided to try the pin plugin (0.1.9) with vdr-1.5.9 today. I noticed
that the patch that came with the pin plugin was only for vdr-1.4.x, but the
merges seemed trivial and it appears to work fine. The plugin does seem to

record even more than 10 simultaneous video timers, the memory consumption
is below 400 MBytes.
But when any noise appears in the signal, the memory goes up to 1 Gigabyte,
the whole system memory, then system starts malfunct
