you missed that his problem is the length of the login-name. logging in with aa@...
isn't possible and your .qmail-a solution doesn't change this.

all the stuff is done (reverse lookup, if turned on), the tcpserver-line becomes
a .. uhm... qmail-smtpd (?) line. if the PIDs doesn't change every seconds i think its
ok. if the PIDs change very often, something is maybe not ok with supervise.
