I can compile courier-authlib version 0.59.2 or lower just fine with vpopmail
5.4.17 but I cannot get newer versions to compile. I tried asking on the
courier-imap list but they say "not our problem."

I have a user that has around 500 megs worth of messages in their cur
directory. I asked them to please remove messages from the server in
their pop client, but now they say that it just times out after a long
time when checking their email,

* qmail-scanner-2.01
* vpopmail 5.4.17
* mysql-5.0.37 from Slackware package installed on other machine
There is no "[vchkpw] vchkpw-pop3: vpopmail user not found" errors between
22:30 and 4:00 (at night)

give proper credit - posted this patch "out there" a few weeks ago. I
don't think it's become mainstream yet, but I literally just went through
the same problem with authlib 0.59.3 and vpopmail 5.4.17. Yes, the patch

OK, I found it! It's in French, that's why it's kinda hard to find. You
can run this page through Babelfish and get something readable, but the
