Now i fixed the problem i describe earlier.
.qmail now can contain lines with starting "# " and "./Maildir"
as it described for .qmail files in original Qmail.
If u r interested in these corrections please contact me.

Hi Vladimir,
I'm curious, once your patches are integrated into later vpopmail releases
will it still require modifications to qmail-popup and storing of
clear-text passwords?

Greetings list
Since I'm new to the list, I apologize if this kind of question was asked.
I can't get my vpopmail work I'm using vpopmail-4.9.10 with qmail-1.03 on
RedHat 7.1, the problems is that vpopmail is not authenticating users here
is what I got on my logs:
Sep 7 04:10:35 localhost vpop

cleartext passwords absolutely required only if u wish to use APOP or CRAM-
Hi,
here you have a problem with executing and/or writing rights for the progs
vpopmail try to execute and to the directories it try to write.
Look for the progs'owner and rights.

Hello Ken, Thanx it works now, unbelievable ;)) ! We had to fill in "" in 'pw_passwd' and the 'pw_dir' field.. When there was NULL in both fields or in one of them it still crashed or it said authentication failure.. Thanks for all the help you offered us with this feature. Cheers, lao
Hello!
i use vpopmail 5.0pre1 and courier-imap 1.3.10.
and i found that i can not let vipmap work with courier-imap well.
(i use courier-imap for both pop3 and imap).
example:
>vipmap 127.0.0.1 test.com
>telnet 127.0.0.1 110
user [EMAIL PROTECTED]
pass xxx
It's some feature or patch to store incoming
emails in mySQL in BLOB fields?
Thanx

Hello, I've been trying to compile the latest courier-imap 1.3.10 with vpopmail 5.0pre3 but while compiling I get following error: ./configure command: courier-imap: --without-ipv6 \ --without-authdaemon \ --enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-bugs \
Problem is the fact that the latest versions of vpopmail set the
~vpopmail/lib directory as 0711. Change the perms of the directory to
0755 and also the libvpopmail.a file to 0644. _ONLY_ keep this done for
as long as you're compiling courier imap. Once you're done, revert the
old perms.

Sorry for sending this back in html, but you cannot define this anymore in hotmail. (I searched all over..)
Thank you Tren. It does the make but when I do make check then I get another error:
.
INFO: LOGIN, user=user, ip=[127.0.0.1]INFO: LOGOUT, user=user, ip=[127.0.0.1], headers=0, body
I think once 5.0 is released we should review the
courier-imap/sqwebmail vpopmail code.

I updated the vmysql.c module to support NULL fields.

pre5 is available for download.
One issue addressed and I think fixed is aliased domains.
You can now authenticate against an aliased domain with
the vchkpw pop auth program.
There is a vget_real_domain( char *domain, int buff_size)
function that looks up the domain in the assign cdb file.
Alia
I just tried pre5. Still the same issue with aliased domains.

Hmmm. Interesting. It looks to be working on one machine. But not the other.
The only difference's is in my "virtualdomains" file for qmail.
Here is the one that works.

Here is what I have after running

vaddaliasdomain ken.com test.com
virtualdomains:
test.com:test.com
ken.com:ken.com

I want to use the vpopbull command to put a message in all of my user's
mailboxes. Is there a specific file format I have to follow or can I just
use the command to send a plain text file with my message in it?
TIA

Also Ken,
Before the final release. Can you put the failed password in brackets or
quotes or something. It blends in to much with the other logging.
Thanks.

When I try to compile with vpopmail-4.9.10 I get this error?
How can I fix this?

The one that is failing is configured like that exactly. However it still
fails.
I will try to do some more testing with the latest version and see what I
can come up with.
If you release without this fix I do believe you are going to have a lot
more users encountering this problem. Again I am u
