Bill Shupp has done a great job creating a
howto install (which you probably should be using considering you haven't looked
at the www.qmail.org website yet - there's
several patches there) which includes an SMTP auth patch. http://www.shupp.org/toaster/

I see the code and doesn't seem difficult to do it, my problem is test
