maybe creating symlinks should do..
try these :
sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/tomcat /etc/rc1.d/K99tomcat
sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/tomcat /etc/rc2.d/S99tomcat
(adjust the parameters accrording to your script name).

Any idea wht's going wrong here. Please let me know how to start and stop
this server like we do for other daemons. e.g
/etc/init.d/httpd start
/etc/init.d/httpd stop
etc.
