Hi Team,
We are hosting our e-commerce application on tomcat 7.0.47 with Apache(
Apache/2.2.15) web server for load balancing. There are 2 servers on the
cluster. I don't remember the exact cluster configuration.
There is a requirement to upgrade our tomcat to the latest version 8.0.35. Does

Resource Tag of the context.xml is achieved this. But am not seeing any
information about the Program name after connecting to database.
Eg :

Thanks a bunch Daniel for your help. Also for the patience in answering my
question.
The solution to this issue to make Tomcat handle the connection pooling instead
of the application code OR to restart the application servers along with the DB.

Tomcat is using JDK 1.5 and its JDBC driver. So I am not sure if I need to
upgrade the JDBC driver.
I suspect that whene DB is getting restarted, the idle connections are being
removed. Not sure how we can avoid this situation

Hi all
Thanks for reading this post.
We are currently having 2 requirements that are opposites. The first
requirement is performance under high loads and the other one is equivalent
performance for 1 request.
Our prod env currently uses Apache with mod_jk and ajp 1.3 to Tomcat 6.0.26 and
jdk 1
to get tomcat work with an encrypted
password. [given the fact there is no way anyone can get to the secret key
for decrypting the password]
